Pixie Welcome to BestDOG!

The program that lets you find the dog breeds that are best for you. It's fun!

Basic Use

You can see how breeds compare on various traits by clicking the trait in the left panel. For example, to see which breeds are the most intelligent, click Intelligence. Go ahead, try it! Once you sort by a trait, you can click on the name of a breed to get information about the breed.

Finding Your BestDOG

Bulldog - stupidOK, so now that you know a German Shepherd is smarter than a Bulldog, what can you do next?

German Shepherd - smartBestDOG helps you find which breeds are best for you. This involves answering a bunch of questions about your ideal dog. The questionnaire asks what your ideal value is for each trait -- for example, you want a dog that's very playful and doesn't need a lot of exercise -- and how important each trait is to you -- for example, it's very important to have a dog that's good with children, but you don't really care if it sheds or not.

Once you complete the questionnaire, BestDOG will take all your preferences into consideration to rank the breeds in order of compatibility. The survey takes less than five minutes. Just click here to begin. Good Luck!

Important Disclaimer: The data presented here were culled from several expert sources (see below), but are by no means definitive. Many dog experts disagree when it comes to assigning traits to breeds! Also, individual dogs vary--just like people!
